Work in progress, Passiflora alata - Karla Storch de Gracia López

Estudié Artes Plásticas en México y como ilustradora he participado en publicaciones científicas botánicas especializadas y en otros proyectos como diseñadora de personajes.

Siempre me ha interesado la botánica y tuve la oportunidad de dibujar esta Passiflora alata del natural en un jardín botánico de Coatepec, México. El proceso de trabajo fue dividido en tres etapas: primero la planta fue dibujada a lápiz, después la imagen fue trazada con pluma estilográfica sobre papel vegetal y finalmente transferida a digital para ser coloreada con el uso de photoshop.

I studied Fine Arts in México. As an illustrator I have participated in scientific botanical publications and in another projects as character designer.

I´ve been always interested in botany and I had the opportunity to do this natural drawing of the Passiflora alata at the botanical garden in Coatepec, México. The work process was divided in three stages: first drawing the plant by pencil, then drawing it with pen and ink on tracing paper, transferred to digital and finally colorized using photoshop.
